Four work packages over 36 months

The SUSTAIN project is structured around four work packages, spanning a 36-month period. Over the course of the project, the team will carry out a series of activities aimed at delivering 14 distinct results, all contributing to the achievement of the project’s objectives.

WP1: Project Implementation and Management

The project team within Work Package 1 will be responsible for establishing the foundational management structures necessary for the project's success. This includes developing the Project Implementation Strategy and Management Plan, the Risk Mitigation Plan, and the Quality Assurance Plan. These efforts aim to enable smooth and coordinated project implementation, monitoring, and reporting; ensure sound and transparent communication within and outside the partnership; and support effective quality and risk monitoring and reporting through specialized governance committees.

WP2: Develop training and tools for the Third Mission

The project team within Work Package 2 will focus on creating the core strategic and operational frameworks for university sustainability and social engagement ("Third Mission"). This involves carrying out a localized Baseline Assessment of current institutional capacities across the target regions, co-creating a comprehensive Blueprint Strategy, and designing operational tools for institutional evaluation.

WP3: Deploy and Validate Training

Work Package 3 is dedicated to the concrete field testing and regional setup of SUSTAIN pilots across target locations. The project team will establish localized sustainability pilot hubs, deploy trained personnel, and adapt institutional frameworks using the tools co-created in WP2.

WP4: Dissemination

Work Package 4 focuses on maximizing the visibility, impact, and long-term sustainability of the SUSTAIN project. The team will ensure effective dissemination through the Strategic Dissemination Plan, the Project Web Page and social platform plans, promo materials, newsletters, press releases, public events, and non-formal civic knowledge networks.

Cross-Border Project Meetings

Shared learning across partner regions

The SUSTAIN project brings partners together through face-to-face international meetings designed to share knowledge and build lasting cooperation. The journey began in Mladá Boleslav, Czechia, with a 2-day Kick-off Meeting and a 2-day academic planning workshop. The team will then travel to the Maldives for a management meeting and training workshop across local hubs, followed by a European learning tour in Brussels and Dubrovnik, evaluation visits in Vietnam and the Maldives, and a closing meeting and public conference in Hanoi, Vietnam.
